Robinson Gallery – My Hearts Art by Lisa Hilliard
Artist Statement:
I paint to release energy. My mediums of choice are acrylic paint and ink. Dipping the pallet knife into the paint, blending colors, or stroking the canvas with a brush calms my inner being. Each creation reflects unique messages from my heart’s center. My messages are uniquely interpreted by those who are viewing them. The paintings are named based on the message my heart conveys. I won second place in last year’s “New Beginnings” exhibition at the Salisbury Art Space in Salisbury Maryland. I have customers in Baltimore Maryland, Tampa Florida, as well as Seaford Delaware. Hans Hartung, a German-French artist who is known for his gestural abstract style, and Jackson Pollock for his action paintings inspire my creative expressions.
Lisa Hilliard is a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and is a self-taught informal abstract artist. After a traumatic incident as a young girl, she began to write poetry as a coping mechanism. 40 years later after seeking professional counseling band enrolling in an art journaling class another hidden talent surfaced. Now she expresses and releases her feelings in her heart-felt pieces of artwork. She has also hosted art journaling sessions for others who were interested.
