Learn Foundational Techniques by Drawing from Life Beginners are welcomed to come to learn basic foundational techniques, and more advanced participants are encouraged to use this time to work with a model as best suits their needs. Whether it’s proportion, anatomy, value, or atmosphere, the instructor will provide constructive feedback to help participants get the most out of this class. Each session will focus on long poses, 10–15-minute poses, and proportions, use of paper/material, how to measure/scale the body, and perspective.

MIXED MEDIA MANIA returns with Katrina Zimmerman M-F, 9 am – noon July 6-10,2026, students entering grades 2 – 8 MIXED MEDIA MANIA with Katrina Zimmerman July 6-July 10, 2026 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Ages:7-14 years old SAS members: $150, non-members: $175, and drop-in rate: $35/day Description: Ready for another fun packed week of creativity and imagination at our Mixed Media Mania Summer Art Camp? Tailored for budding artists aged 8-13, this dynamic program will explore artistic expression through a variety of arts media including printmaking, sculpture, painting/drawing, and more depending on the interests of the artist campers. Guided by the experienced and passionate visual art instructor, Katrina Zimmerman, young artists will embark on a captivating journey where they can seamlessly merge different mediums to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces while helping students discover where their inner artist shines. Throughout the camp, participants will develop fundamental art skills, explore various techniques, and cultivate their unique artistic voices. With a focus on fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, our camp aims to inspire confidence, self-expression, and a lifelong love for the arts. Students will proudly display their creations in an exhibit on the last day of camp before bringing them home.
